The Critical Care Unit remains one of the best-designed acute care facilities in the state. Consisting of 18 centrally monitored beds, the CCU provides care for patients with a broad range of medical and surgical conditions across three distinct disciplines:  Intensive Care, High-Dependency Care and Acute Coronary Care.

It is staffed and equipped as a state-of-the-art intensive care facility capable of providing all modalities of support for critically ill patients, including:
  • mechanical ventilation
  • invasive monitoring
  • continuous haemodialysis
  • total parenteral nutrition
  • acute resuscitation of patients in the general wards
The Critical Care Unit is located on the first floor, and is in close proximity to the operating theatres, recovery unit, angiography suite and radiology services.
