The St Andrew's Hospital Ethics Committee is established in accordance with the guidelines of the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2007). The Ethics Committee reviews research proposals involving human participants to ensure that they are ethically acceptable and in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines.

Research Submissions
Applications for Ethics approval must comply with the written guidelines in the document 'Procedures and Documentation Guidelines for Researchers'.
Researchers, please note:
- 10 copies of all documentation, except the Investigator's Brochure, must be submitted to the Executive Secretary of the St Andrew's Hospital Ethics Committee. Only two copies of the Investigator's Brochure are required.
- The Principal Investigator/Representative will be required to present their submission in person at a meeting of the Ethics Committee. On receipt of your application, the Executive Secretary of the Ethics Committee will contact you to schedule this presentation.

Submission Fees
Applications for projects which are sponsored by commercial agencies (eg. pharmaceutical companies or industry bodies) will attract a submission fee of $3000. Fees are payable subject to project approval.
Applications by individual researchers for non-sponsored projects or for competitive grant applications will not attract a fee.
