Readily accessible from any route to the city,
St Andrew’s Emergency Service is geared to provide a convenient, efficient service within comfortable surrounds.

Waiting times are significantly less than in emergency departments of public hospitals.

Entry to the Emergency Service  is via the
front entrance at 350 South Terrace ~ short term car parking is available.

If you need to be admitted

We will inform your family and general practitioner that you are in hospital and generally assist in any way we can.

If you are insured
We will need details of your private health insurance, including fund name, level of cover and membership number.

If you are uninsured
You may wish to pay the anticipated costs of treatment at St Andrew’s Hospital or alternatively, be transferred to a public hospital once your condition has stabilised.

Work related injury
If your admission is as a result of work-related injury, your employer will be contacted to acknowledge the condition and accept financial responsibility.

Rest assured that emergency care is not delayed while any of these matters are resolved.

Follow up

We will keep your nominated general practitioner informed of your treatment details either during your attendance or as soon as possible afterwards.

A prescription will be written for any drugs needed after leaving the Emergency Service.
