  St Andrew’s Hospital is an independent non-profit private hospital. It has 217 licensed beds and is situated at 350 South Terrace, Adelaide.

St Andrew’s is a fully accredited acute surgical/medical hospital with 7 Theatres, 2 Procedure Rooms, a 14 bay Recovery Room, Critical Care Unit, Emergency Department, Day Patient Suite, Short Stay Suite, and Chemotherapy Suite.

Patients are admitted to units, which have been developed to cater to the specific medical/surgical specialty and to the accommodation of their choice (private, share, ward) where possible. In general, the floors are dedicated as follows:

Dr Jones & Partners provide a comprehensive Medical Imaging Department including 2 MRI's, 2 CT scans, Digital Angiography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and Mammography situated in the Hospital.

Adelaide Radiotherapy Centre provides cobalt therapy and linear accelerator treatment on site.

A Lithotripter unit has been established adjacent to the Day Patient Suite.

Outpatient Stomal Therapy, Pre-Admission Clinic, Discharge Co-ordinator, Breast Centre and service and a Spirometry Service are all located on site.

St Andrew's Medical Centre was established to extend our oncology facilities and services. The Medical Centre houses the Davidson Chemotherapy Suite and consulting rooms. Patients receive chemotherapy by oncology trained nursing staff, which has been prescribed by the medical oncologists who visit the centre.

The medical centre offers chemocaps for the prevention of hair loss during chemotherapy.



PATIENT FACILITIES

St Andrew's Hospital offers a choice of single and shared accommodation. Each single room has an ensuite bathroom. Each patient has a wardrobe, bedside cabinet, visitor chairs and a table tray for reading, writing and having meals. Colour television is installed in all rooms.

St Andrew's Hospital chefs prepare a tempting range of restaurant quality cuisine to ensure that each patient enjoys well balanced, nutritional meals. Special diets are prepared on request and a dietitian is available for personal consultation.


VISITORS

For your convenience, a coffee shop is situated in the foyer and is open 10am-7.30pm weekdays and 1.30pm-4.30pm weekends. It is closed on Public Holidays.

Meals are also available in the cafeteria.

Daily visiting: 11.30am - 8.30pm
Children's Ward: no restrictions
Critical Care Unit: no visitors between
10.30am - 12 noon
Chaplaincy Service: on request


ADMISSION

Your admission to St Andrew's Hospital will usually be arranged through your doctor, who will provide you with the hospital's admission pack. The admission form should be completed and returned to the hospital as soon as possible.

Admission for surgery will usually be on the day of surgery. The time of admission will be confirmed by your doctor.

A Pre-admission Clinic is available to you where experienced nursing staff commence the admission process. They will also inform you about your scheduled procedure and attend to any special needs or requests that you may have.


DISCHARGE

Discharge from hospital will be arranged by your doctor. Any special discharge arrangements required will be attended to by our staff.

Discharge time is 10.00am.


ACCOUNTS

For your convenience, the Accounts Department is open from 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays).

Experienced staff are available to assist you with all enquiries regarding your hospital account including accommodation and theatre costs.
