Golf Day Raises $36K for Clinical Scholarships
November 21, 2025
What a remarkable day at the St Andrew’s Classic Golf Day! ⛳️
This annual event showcases the strength of our community, bringing together specialists, corporate partners, and supporters with a shared commitment to patient-centred care at St Andrew's Hospital.
We are deeply grateful to every player, sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who contributed to the day. Your participation and generosity help drive innovation, enhance the patient experience, and invest in clinical scholarships that foster excellence in care.
This year, the Golf Day raised an impressive $36,000 for the Janet Hay Clinical Scholarships, which support professional development for our nurses. Since the program began in 2003, the Golf Day has contributed $266,000 and helped fund over 50 scholarships, enabling nurses to deepen their expertise, take on leadership roles, and bring new knowledge directly back to the bedside.
At St Andrew’s Hospital, everything we do is focused on providing exceptional care to over 40,000 South Australians each year. Central to that mission is our workforce - especially our nurses. The St Andrew’s Hospital Nursing Scholarship Program ensures our nursing team remains highly skilled, engaged, and ready to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
By funding Graduate Diplomas in Nursing Science across a range of specialties, the program helps nurses stay up to date with innovations in patient care and medical technology. It also plays a critical role in retaining talented clinicians, offering clear career pathways, and reinforcing our commitment to growth and development in an increasingly competitive healthcare workforce.
Founded in 1936 by Sister Janet Hay, St Andrew’s has always been a place of nurse-led innovation and compassionate care. Today, our nursing team - from graduate nurses to clinical educators and senior managers - continues that legacy every day, with skill, dedication, and heart. Contributions to the Medical Education and Research Fund help make this program possible. A scholarship donation starts at $5,000, with naming opportunities available from $10,000.
On behalf of the St Andrew’s Hospital Foundation, thank you for raising funds that make a tangible difference in the lives of our patients and the broader community. With your generosity, we can continue to invest in our nurses and provide them with the training they need to lift up our whole community.
