Emergency Service

St Andrew's Hospital Emergency Service provides emergency medical attention from 8.00am - 10.00pm, seven days a week.

The Emergency Service has been established to provide assessment of patients with acute medical and surgical conditions who:

  • require emergency care
  • have a local doctor / specialist referral
  • have been a recent inpatient and require review

We pride ourselves on having a medical and nursing team that boasts the experience and necessary training to provide one of the best emergency care services in South Australia. This level of expertise not only means a higher quality of care but it has a positive impact on waiting times. In fact, waiting times are generally much, much less than those experienced in the emergency departments of public hospitals.

Entry to the Emergency Service is via the front entrance at 350 South Terrace and short term car parking is available.

It should be noted that we do not provide emergency obstetric, paediatric or psychiatric services.

St Andrew’s Hospital does not operate an Acute Stroke Unit or manage Major Trauma, please refer to our State’s Public Hospitals.

There will be some out of pocket expenses involved, including our Medical Consultancy fee.
