Welcome Anne Young as Chair of St Andrew’s Hospital Foundation
March 11, 2026
St Andrew’s Hospital Foundation is proud to welcome Anne Young as Chair of the Board, marking an important milestone as we approach our 90th anniversary year.
Anne is a respected community health advocate and experienced board leader with deep expertise across governance and risk, pharmacy, retail and community health systems. Her work is grounded in a strong belief that clear, evidence-based and unbiased information empowers individuals, families and communities to support better health outcomes.
Anne currently leads the development and delivery of Healthy Conversations in the Community, an initiative focused on proactive and practical health engagement across all ages and stages of life. Through this work, she fosters informed dialogue, strengthens health literacy, and connects stakeholders to ensure people understand their risks, options, and pathways to care and support - particularly within senior care and retirement living settings.
Anne brings extensive governance experience, having served as a Director of Heart Foundation SA, Arthritis SA, Kidsafe SA, Mary Potter Foundation, Scotch College Adelaide and Chemplus. Her board contributions have included significant involvement in finance, audit, risk and growth committees. She is currently a member of the Governance and Risk Committee of Scouts SA.
With more than 20 years at Chemplus Chemists Head Office, Anne held senior leadership roles spanning business development, brand management, marketing, communications and human resources. She played a key role in guiding Chemplus’ growth from a small buying group to a nationally recognised brand and, in 2012, was appointed to the Chemplus Board as its first non-pharmacist Director.
Through her consultancy, Young Resources, Anne continues to support organisations to strengthen performance through people development, guided by a collaborative philosophy grounded in integrity, empathy and shared purpose.
Her appointment as the first female Chair in the Foundation’s 25-year history is a fitting milestone for St Andrew’s, founded by Sister Janet Hay and built on a legacy of strong female leadership. As the Foundation continues to expand its impact in supporting patients, families and the broader St Andrew’s community, Anne’s leadership signals an exciting new chapter.
We look forward to the insight, integrity and strategic direction Anne will bring as we shape the future of St Andrew’s Hospital Foundation.
