St Andrew’s Hospital celebrated the formal opening of their new development yesterday (Thursday, May 31). The $50 million Eastern Clinical Development comprises a new procedural unit consisting of 3 x Endoscopy Suites, 2 x Angiography Suites and 2 x Operating Theatres together with a 35 bed recovery unit, a state of the art 28 bed cardiac unit, a 200 bay underground car park and a staff gymnasium. His Excellency, the Honourable Hieu Van Le, Governor of South Australia formally opened the new building. St Andrew’s Hospital CEO Stephen Walker proudly announced at the opening that the new building has been shortlisted in the European Healthcare Design Awards with the winner being announced in London on June 12. Mr Walker thanked the Builder Mossop Constructions and all of the consultants that worked on the project and noted that they were all South Australian businesses.
St Andrew’s is one of Australia’s largest independent private hospitals providing a comprehensive range of surgical and medical services treating more than 30,000 patients each year.
