Over the past few days a group of our leaders have participated in Mental Health First Aid training.

Supporting our people to feel safe psychologically both in the workplace and in their personal lives is of great importance to us, and with mental illness sadly on the rise.

Mental Health First Aid is the initial help offered to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem, or a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received, or the crisis resolves. Having the knowledge and the practical skills to proactively initiate a supportive conversation with someone you are concerned about can make all the difference.

Mental Health First Aid Training was first developed in 2000 by Betty Kitchener and Prof Tony Jorm, and operates within Mental Health First Aid Australia, a national not for profit organisation focused on mental health training and research.

We are pleased to be able to offer this training to our leaders through our partner nb&a associates who are accredited Mental Health First Aid Australia® instructors.

Mental Health First Aid Australia offers early-intervention education courses for adults in the workplace that increase mental health literacy and teach the practical skills needed to support a co-worker experiencing a mental health problem.
